    Heavy or abnormal menstrual bleeding is called menorrhagia. This can be caused by a wide range of issues such as uterine polyps, uterine fibroids, coagulopathy or bleeding disorders, endometrial hyperplasia, malignancy of the uterus or cervix, or the use of an intrauterine device. However, the most common cause of menorrhagia is anemia.
