The Giro Fixture MIPS is a great value, well-fitting and sharp-looking trail lid. With a ton of colour options and the MIPS cradle for added protection, there's little reason not to put this at the top of your list – though it’s a shame the shell doesn’t wrap the inner foam fully, as it's vulnerable to knocks at the edges.

At just $70/£69.99 and packing a MIPS system under some generous coverage – and styled and built with winning attention to detail – the Giro Fixture is impressive. Okay the peak is non-adjustable, the inner foam is not entirely protected and there's only one shell size, but if these aren't going to bother you then there's little else to dislike.

Giro Fixture with MIPS technology is a very good choice if you’re looking for a lightweight, well ventilated helmet with a visor. Giro’s Universal Fit assures a good fit and comfortable rides. The straps are adjustable, and the padding is comfortable. For the money, this helmet is tough to beat.
