The Giro Aerohead Ultimate MIPS is fantastic time trial helmet, albeit with a prohibitive price tag. The lack of venting makes it less versatile for some riders and for those individuals I would suggest the less expensive Aerohead.

In aerodynamic testing, it significantly improves over almost all aero helmets. In transition it is fast and, with a bit of practice, has the potential to be very fast. The venting, while minimal, is effective and well designed; I felt good competing in the sweat box that was the Cozumel World Championships.

After spending time on the road with the Aerohead, it’s hard to have anything but glowing praise for it. It’s comfortable and well ventilated (for our position, at least). And, according to Giro, it’s the fastest helmet they make. Add to that its amazing visor, and we are sold. This is definitely a helmet worth testing out at your local bike shop.

2 of 2 customers found this review helpful. Comfortable. Great vision. Fast. Only change and improved 2k pursuit by 4 seconds at Nationals. Was cool at Carson indoor track. Wind noise lower. Fit was true but felt it on ear but I quickly got used to it.
