Setting Up the ESP8266
Hardware Requirements
To get started with the ESP8266, you will need the following components:

A USB-to-Serial converter (3.3V model)
A USB cable

Installing the Software

ESP8266 Board Manager: Open the Arduino IDE, go to File > Preferences, and add the following URL to the "Additional Board Manager URLs" field: http://arduino.esp8266.com/stable/package_esp8266com_index.json.
Install ESP8266 Board: Go to Tools > Board > Boards Manager, search for "ESP8266", and install the package.
