Emojis aren’t just for phones. There is a keyboard shortcut to use them just as easily on your computer. Press the Win and period. keys together, or, on a Mac, use the combination Ctrl + Cmd + space.

Access the emoji keyboard by pressing Windows key +. (period). Navigate through emoji category tabs at the bottom of the window, or type a word (e.g., smile) to search for an emoji. Click any emoji to insert it.

Put it simply, hold down the Windows or Start key and press the “.” (period) key on your keyboard. Alternatively, you can also use the “ Windows key + ; ” keyboard shortcut too. As soon as you press the keyboard shortcut, the emoji keyboard will open. You can double-click on any emoji to use it.

To add emojis in Windows 11, do as follows: Launch any text editor that you use frequently. Now, position your cursor in the text editor where you want to enter the emoji. Press Win +. to launch the emoji keyboard. Alternatively, you can use the Win + ; key combination.
