Place your cursor in the file at the spot where you want to insert the symbol. Go to Insert > Symbol. Pick a symbol, or choose More Symbols. Scroll up or down to find the symbol you want to insert.

Select Insert > Icons. Scroll through the icons or jump to a category by choosing a name in the navigation pane at the left. You can also search by using the box near the top left corner. Choose an icon and then select Insert at the lower right. Insert multiple icons at the same time by choosing each of them before clicking Insert.

Navigate to the PowerPoint slide to which you want to add a 3-D cylinder. 3. Click the "Shapes" button in the ribbon. A list of shapes appear in a drop-down menu. 4. Click the 3-D cylinder shape, located in the Basic Shapes section. The menu closes and your cursor changes to a plus symbol, indicating that you are now in drawing mode.
