Number Systems
Computers use different number systems to represent data. The most common ones include:
Binary: The binary number system is the foundation of all data representation in digital systems. It uses only two values, 0 and 1, and has a base of 2. For example, the binary representation of the decimal number 178 is (10110010)₂1.
Octal: The octal number system uses eight digits, from 0 to 7, and has a base of 8. For example, the octal representation of the decimal number 17079 is (324017)₈1.
Decimal: The decimal number system uses ten digits, from 0 to 9, and has a base of 10. For example, the decimal representation of the number 875629 is (875629)₁₀1.
Hexadecimal: The hexadecimal number system uses sixteen digits, from 0 to 9 and A to F, and has a base of 16. For example, the hexadecimal representation of the decimal number 57005 is (DEAD)₁₆1.
