A fixed-gear, or fixie, is a bike with a direct link between the rear cog and the rear wheel. This means that when the bike is moving, the pedals are also moving with it, so there’s no coasting. In other words, your feet move as long as the bike does.

A fixed gear bike, also known as a “fixie,” is any bicycle with only one fixed gear attached directly to the hub of the back wheel. More specifically, a fixed gear bike has a single sprocket connected to the right side crank, which is directly in line with one gear that is threaded or bolted to the hub of the back wheel.
