(Word has an option to remove formatting, but most other programs don't.)

Every program reacts the same - whether I copy from and paste to them - and I experienced the issue since Windows 8 which is why I'm not mentioning any specific version numbers. I'm now using Windows 10 as mentioned. The system locale I use on all my devices is English (United States) yet this is the only device with the annoying copy-paste issue.

Jun 18, 2012 · After staring at various config options for 10 minutes I didn't see any way to get ConEmu to automatically copy text that I've selected to the clipboard. Console2 will do it. Is there a config option for this that I missed? I sure didn't see one but the configuration of ConEmu is a bit... jumbled. You'd think it would be on the Mark & Paste screen:

Even in VBA it seems that they appear as "13" characters that are not easy to distinguish from normal paragraph mark characters. Oct 28, 2010 · Another way that was easier for me was to configure an auto copy to clipboard setting. Open Start Menu > All Programs > OpenText Exceed > Exceed Tools > XConfig. Go to: X Selection, and change it to PRIMARY and make sure the Auto copy feature is checked. Click Validate and Apply Changes (green check mark) and you are done.
