Typical backyard basketball court dimensions are 60 feet by 90 feet (for reference, a regulation NBA court is 50 feet by 94 feet). If your backyard space is limited — but you don’t want to settle for the ol’ “single hoop in the driveway” setup — you could also choose a half-court basketball court layout, which is 30 feet by 50 feet.

A full-court requires a minimum of 94 feet in length by 50 feet in width, so if your backyard is smaller, you may want to opt for a half-court instead. A standard half-court only requires 50 feet in length by 27 feet in width, but will still provide enough room to have many friends over, and even hold small tournaments.
