What is Poker Math? Poker math refers to the ability to quickly and accurately calculate odds, probabilities, and potential outcomes during a poker game. Poker math involves various aspects, such as understanding the odds of hitting a particular hand, calculating pot odds, and determining the optimal bet sizing at the poker table.

Poker Maths is mainly used when we need to hit a card in order to make our hand into a winning hand, and we have to decide whether it is worth carrying on and chasing that card. To make this decision we consider two elements: How many “Outs” we have (Cards that will make us a winning hand) and how likely it is that an Out will be dealt.

In this lesson we’re going to give an overview of probability and how it relates to poker. This will include the probability of being dealt certain hands and how often they’re likely to win. We’ll also cover how to calculating your odds and outs, in addition to introducing you to the concept of pot odds.
