To assign a keyboard shortcut do the following: Begin keyboard shortcuts with CTRL or a function key. Press the TAB key repeatedly until the cursor is in the Press new shortcut key box. Press the combination of keys that you want to assign. For example, press CTRL plus the key that you want to use.

Type the text string that you want to assign to shortcut and remember to enclose it in quotes, in the application (e.g., "Control Key Usage for Text String"). Press ctrl key and hold it Press key that you want to assign the shortcut for example the letter C key or any other key

Right-click the control for which you want to set a keyboard shortcut, and then click Control Properties on the shortcut menu. Click the Advanced tab. In the Access key box, type a character. An access key is simply a keyboard shortcut that uses the ALT key as part of the shortcut.

The Customize Keyboard dialog box. Position the insertion point in the Press New Shortcut Key text box. Press the shortcut key you want to use. For instance, if you want to use Ctrl+J, then press Ctrl+J. Just below the Current Keys text box you should see the name of any commands currently using this shortcut.

To do this, click New Hotkey in WinHotKey, then click the drop down box under I want WinHotKey to: and select Type some text. Now, type or paste the text into the box at the bottom of the new hotkey window.
