SAN DIEGO — Authorities identified a Spring Valley woman who was shot and killed this week at her home, allegedly by her estranged husband. Ashley Bird, 35, was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the head when San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at her home on La Presa Avenue near Jamacha Boulevard at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Ashley Bird, 35, was found by police deputies with a gunshot wound to her head laying on the couch inside her home in La Presa, California. Her estranged husband Christopher Bird, 39, was the main suspect in the case after the shocking discovery, and was later found dead inside his own vehicle.
