Two angles are said to be complementary angles if their sum is equal to 90 degrees. In other words, when complementary angles are put together, they form a right angle (90 degrees).

We know that the sum of complementary angles is equal to 90 degrees and each of them is called the complement of the other. Therefore, the complement of an angle is found by subtracting the angle from 90 degrees. In general terms, if we have the angle x °, its complement is equal to 90° – x°.
