In 2012, Skarsgård joined the History Channel's series Vikings in the main role of Floki, the shipbuilder. [ 7 ] In 2018, he joined the cast of Westworld as Karl Strand for five episodes. [ 2 ] In March 2020, Skarsgård starred in a main role as Merlin, in Cursed, a Netflix original television series based on a re-imaging of the Arthurian legend.

The name of the series is, after all, Vikings - and of every character, Floki may be the most visibly devoted to the Viking gods and the Viking way of life. He is so passionate about retaining the Viking culture that it even leads to him murdering Athelstan, and the rift that this causes between him and Ragnar.

All signs indicate that Floki died on Vikings – but there's a slim chance he could be resurrected still. Would this contradict his previous press statements holding that he was to leave the show for good?

Skarsgård's portrayal captures Floki's mysterious nature and complex relationships with both gods and men. Jordan Patrick Smith portrays Ubbe Lothbrok, one of Ragnar's sons. Ubbe is a skilled warrior who becomes a key figure in the Viking Age. He is known for his loyalty and sense of justice, always striving to uphold the traditions of his people.
