A sea serpent is a type of sea monster described in various mythologies, [1] most notably in Mesopotamian cosmology , Ugaritic cosmology (Yam, Tannin), biblical cosmology (Leviathan, Rahab), Greek cosmology (Cetus, Echidna, Hydra, Scylla), and Norse cosmology (Jörmungandr).

Basking sharks, nemertines (marine worms), ribbonfish or oarfish (Regalecus), and sea lions have also been suggested as explanations of some so-called sea serpents.

Sea serpent sightings could have been mistaken for giant whales, basking sharks, or even giant masses of seaweed. So it does make us wonder… The logical answer to the sea serpent’s existence is no; they do not exist.
