To bat in rounders, you’ll need a bat, which is usually made of wood or metal, and a ball, which is slightly larger than a softball. The bat should be no more than 18 inches long and 2.75 inches in diameter. You’ll also need a helmet to protect your head and face while batting.

The Rounder bat should have a smooth surface made of wood, plastic, or metal (e.g. aluminium). Rounders bats usually have a rounded end and a long handle at the bottom for players to grip. England Rounders regulations balls (and baseball balls) are most often white. Even so, you can play Rounders with a coloured ball.

The batsman must strike at a good ball and attempt to run a rounder (even if he misses the ball or fails to strike at it) in a counterclockwise direction around the first, second, and third posts and so home to the fourth post, though he may stay at any of the first three.
