Florence Welch was born on August 28, 1986 in London, England as Florence Leontine Mary Welch. Heavily religious and/or mythological imagery in her music. E.g. "Shake it Out", "Only if for a Night", "I'm Not Calling you a Liar", "Bedroom Hymns" Singer with the band Florence and the Machine. Suffers from Dyspraxia.

Welch was the oldest of three children in an upper-middle-class family in south London. Her father was a British advertising executive whose fondness for punk informed some of Welch’s earliest musical memories. Her mother, an American professor of Renaissance studies, exposed Welch to the art and music of that era.
