8 month old babies typically get milk every 3 to 4 hours. While the breastfeeding frequency varies, most babies this age will not go longer than 4 hours without nursing except at night. Similarly, if your baby is drinking formula, most babies are going 3 to 4 hours between bottles.

The American Academy of Pediatrics and La Leche League recommend the following feeding schedules and amounts for 8-month-olds. Solids: Offered 2 times per day or at family mealtimes Breast milk: Up to 8 ounces every 4 to 5 hours Formula: 7 to 8 ounces every 5 to 6 hours Your 8-month-old baby should be no stranger to solids!

An eight month old baby should not have any cow's or goat's milk (unless used for cooking) but only breastmilk or formula. If giving bottled breastmilk then roughly 24 ounces or 720 ml spread between 3-5 feedings per day. If breastfeeding, continue as you were. The baby knows when they are full and when they need more.
